FAN CODE OF CONDUCT

We hold our show to a very high standard and work extremely hard to make sure we provide a fun, safe and inclusive space for all fans. Additionally, Keystone Comic Con holds its fans to a code of conduct that ensures all fans have a great time and feel comfortable at the show. Just like genie wishes and fairy godparents, we all need to stick to a few rules, so please read and follow these quick guidelines before we get together this September.

  1. You must wear your badge at all times (and around your neck) while at Keystone Comic Con.
  2. Be nice and have fun! All of your fellow Keystone Comic Con fans are there to have a good time, so be nice, make a new best friend, give a free hug (with permission) and have a great time! Any behavior that's offensive in public should be kept out of Keystone Comic Con and in the privacy of your own home.
  3. We don’t want anyone to trip and get hurt from stumbling over your outstretched feet, so grab a chair instead of plopping down in the middle of the floor to rest.
  4. We know there are some really awesome cosplayers at the show, but please be courteous of the people around you. Make sure you are not blocking walkways and other areas when you are snapping pics of that awesome group of Stormtroopers. Remember, you should always ask a cosplayer before taking pictures of them!
  5. Keystone Comic Con Staff and Security have the right to ask you to leave Keystone Comic Con and refuse to refund the cost of your ticket if you are behaving in an inappropriate fashion or seen with a counterfeit ticket.
  6. Naked is not a costume. Please wear appropriate (or at least enough) clothing while attending Keystone Comic Con.
  7. Please abide by our weapons policy. In the harsh reality of our times, our security staff and local law enforcement officials will treat anything that looks like a real gun as a real gun.
  8. While we don’t want anyone to lose anything, Keystone Comic Con is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property, or for injuries sustained during the course of Keystone Comic Con.
  9. Please do not abuse the convention facilities. This includes putting signs on walls or trash anywhere other than a garbage can, smoking in non-designated smoking areas and a variety of other uncool things. This is our home of pop culture and we all should respect the space.
  10. Announced events and guests are subject to change and/or cancel without notice. Every effort will be made to announce any changes on the Keystone Comic Con website, Official Mobile App and social media channels, but sometimes last-minute changes will occur.
  11. In exchange for the opportunity to register and attend Keystone Comic Con, I hereby grant permission to Reed Exhibitions (a division of RELX Inc.), its employees and agents, to take, use and publish visual/audio/images of me at Keystone Comic Con, and I hereby waive any claim to compensation for use of such visual/audio/images. Visual/audio/images are any type of recording, including photographs, digital images, drawings, renderings, voices, sounds, video recordings, audio clips or accompanying written descriptions. I agree that Reed Exhibitions owns the images and all rights related to them. The images may be used by Reed Exhibitions in any manner or media without notifying me, such as the Keystone Comic Con website, publications, promotions, broadcasts, advertisements, and posters, for advertising or other related purposes. I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished images or any printed or electronic matter that may be used with them.

COSPLAY PROP POLICY

Management shall have sole discretion in any matter that they believe may affect public safety or be important to protect the integrity of the event. Please review our entire weapons policy before attending Keystone Comic Con. Failure to adhere to our policy may result in your item being confiscated or your removal from the show without refund. If you’re bringing, buying or selling something that could maim, damage or cause serious bodily harm, we’re going to take issue.

The following items are forbidden from Keystone Comic Con:

  • Functional firearms (this also includes air soft guns, BB guns, cap guns, paintball guns and pellet guns)
  • Realistic replica firearms (including reproduction, fake or toy guns that can be confused for functional firearms)
  • Functional projectile weapons (including blow guns, crossbows, long bows, silly string, slingshots, water balloons and water guns)
  • Sharpened metal-bladed weapons (including axes, daggers, hatches, knives, kunai, shuriken, swords, sword canes and switch blades)
  • Explosives (including firecrackers and fireworks)
  • Chemical weapons (including mace and pepper spray)
  • Blunt weapons (including brass knuckles, hockey sticks, clubs, nunchaku, baseball bats)
  • Hard prop weapons (including props made of metal, fiberglass and glass)
  • Instruments that cause excessive noise levels like vuvuzelas, grenades, whistles and grenade horns
  • Whips
  • Aerosol mustard
  • Prop weapons will be allowed providing they are composed of foam or cardboard only. Prop firearms are allowed only if they cannot be mistaken for real weapons. The barrel of all prop weapons must be covered with brightly-colored caps. Prop bows will be allowed providing they have soft tips.

HOW DO I MAKE MY PROP WEAPON SAFE TO BRING TO THE SHOW?

  • Prop weaponry is allowed on the condition that it is comprised of light materials such as foam, cardboard or a lighter wood/wood composite.
  • Reproductions, fake or toy guns are permitted provided they have a brightly colored cap on the barrel.
  • Metal-bladed weapons must be dull and kept in its sheath at all times. Please visit one of our Prop Check stations to have it tagged.
  • Projectile weapons may be brought if the arrow/bolt tips are covered or foam.
  • Please use your common sense - if your prop can be mistaken for a real weapon, do not bring it.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE PROP CHECK STATIONS?

  • We utilize trail tape or zip ties to mark items as ‘safe’ and inspected. Once we have tagged your item, you are not permitted to remove it. We do our best to ensure that the trail tape can be easily hidden for photos. For items that go into sheaths, we will use zip ties, provided that it will not damage the sheath.

CAN MY COSPLAY PROP BE CONFISCATED?

  • In the event you bring a prop that is deemed unsafe for the show, you have the option of returning it to your car/home or we will confiscate your item. Your item may be picked up at the end of the day at Fan Services located past the Grand Hall between the hours of 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Friday and Saturday and 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday. Any items that are not picked up by Sunday at 6:00 PM will be discarded.
